RESPONSIBILITY
“THE ONE AND ONLY MAGIC PILL”
Now more than ever it is time to get back to the basics and start taking control of our own health. I dislike the word “new-age” because most of what is going around about self-empowerment, enlightenment, and health has been around for thousands of years. We are moving back into the “TRUE- AGE”. There are so many techniques/tools that are accessible in our living rooms by just using our own bodies.
Please do not get me wrong here. I believe if someone needs to see a doctor that they should see a doctor. With the increasing prices in insurance and medications it is however more cost effective to learn how we can keep ourselves healthy. I believe a doctor’s role is to help nature to bring balance back to the body. The healing happens deep within us. The doctor does not heal he helps to bring balance (homeostasis) to the body and the body heals it’s self. The word doctor in Latin means ‘EDUCATOR’. I believe it is very important that we be our own doctors by taking RESPONSIBILITY for our own health. It is important to educate ourselves so that we can better achieve and maintain our health. We need to be more active participants in our health. To be totally honest we already are participating in our health. The more conscious we become of that participation the better off we are.
The best teachers (in my opinion) are our own bodies. One of our problems is that we have lost the ability (in varying degrees) to listen to the subtle nudges our body gives us in the direction of health. Actually in most cases this has been cut off purposely. For example - we see a piece of cake we want to eat … then we get an internal feeling that we should not eat it, but we ignore the internal feeling so that we might be able to eat the cake. The more we ignore this voice the more deaf we become to this positive voice or feeling.
Hippocrates said “A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession and learn how to treat his illness by his own judgment”
The body is not a machine. I see the body as 4 in 1. We have a spiritual (energetic), mental, emotional, and physical aspect to our one body. These four aspects work in unison to form the one, much like different instruments in a band. When one aspect is low (out of tune) it pulls the others down. The reverse is also true - bring one aspect up and the others will follow. I personally believe that if we do not address these four aspects together a complete healing is not likely to take place. Cancer for example, there has been many cases where the cancer has been removed and yet it comes back at a later date. Even in cases of the dis-ease being completely healed or removed the illness returning is a reflection of the patient making no mental or emotional changes. By working on these aspects as a whole complete healing can and will take place. I am going to go over some things we can do to help our bodies become balanced and stay that way. In my opinion health is simply balance. The key to getting well: remove negative and replace with positive.
The key to never getting ill is to have more positive input than negative, and at the same time working to rid ourselves of the negative that we have already let in.

MEDITATION:
Meditation is a great tool. Meditation is a discipline of thought control. The real purpose of meditation is to help you focus your thoughts. Thoughts do not create reality – thoughts with emotions create reality, so it is important to gain more control of yourself. Meditation is not the rigid picture you see of a person sitting cross-legged on the floor. Meditation however has been a very serious part of almost every major religion in history. Meditation can be as simple as sitting and watch the sun set. The only real guideline for meditation is to insure you will not be interrupted for the time you have set aside to clear your mind. As you set in a relaxed position (preferable in a chair… while laying down there is temptation to fall asleep) you simple attempt to think of nothing. Focusing on an object like a rose or a sunset helps to clear the chattering mind.
BREATH:
BREATH IS VERY IMPORTANT AND POWERFUL. We all do it and need it. In many cultures breath is considered the manifestation of spirit. My personal definition of SPIRITUALITY is the recognition of how delicately we are all tied together with this breath (spirit). The breath of CREATION touches everything, so getting in touch with this breath putts you in touch with everything. Respiration refers to inhalation of spirit. So when we breathe we are taking in spirit. Doing an activity like running for example changes our breathing pattern, which in turn changes our consciousness, or brain patterns. We can change the physical and mental activity of our body by focusing on our breath and changing the way we breathe.
Oxygen taken in high quantities opens your mind. Many of us do not breathe deeply and use only the upper-chest while breathing. Have you ever wondered why children have so much energy? It is because they deep diaphragmatic breathe automatically. We begin to cut our breath down as we block our feelings. Holding our breath or dampening our breathing is the best way to stop feelings and anesthetize ourselves. We have all experienced this before… for example if you have ever smashed your finger with a hammer or stubbed your toe one of the first things you do is hold your breath.
There are four parts to a breath:
In breath
Peak (pause)
Out breath
Troft (pause)
By focusing on our breath we can get in touch with our body. Take a deep breath now… hold it and now exhale. Could you tell if the breath was smooth or rough? Did any part of your body get a twinge of pain? Was the breath cold or warm?
By using what some refer to as a sensing or listening breath we can ride our breath into our bodies to detect where there is pain… where we might need to concentrate on, or send energy to.
With an action breath you can direct your breath with your intent or thoughts to where healing is needed.
AFFIRMATIONS:
Affirmations are statements affirming one’s value and one’s intent, recited aloud if possible, mentally if necessary. Affirmations are great ways to replace your negative feelings and thoughts with positive feelings and thoughts. A few things to consider when making affirmations: do not use any negative words (not, no, don’t) in your affirmation. For example: DO NOT SAY: “I am no longer sick” instead try ”I am health and strong” or “I choose health”. When doing affirmations say them as if they are true. If you can not say the affirmation as if where true, then 'fake it until you make it.' There are instances when you change your consciousness and a block still remains. There are techniques to help release these energy blocks.
An example of a good affirmation to say daily: “I lovingly forgive and release all of the past - I choose to fill my world with joy - I love and approve of myself.”
TOUCH:
Touch is another powerful tool/gift we all posses. Great healing and comfort can come about by touching yourself or another with positive intent. By placing your hand where your body is ill comfort is brought to the area. Never underestimate the raw power of positive touch.
COLOR, SOUND, AND SMELL - OTHER USEFUL TOOLS
Color, sound, and smell affect us through vibrations (frequencies). Different colors, sounds, and smells have different influences on our bodies, minds, emotions, and energy bodies. For example: Blue (is good for relaxation), Orange (is a good tissue decongestant), and Lemon (cleanser) are just a few very useful colors. To use color – simple visualize the breath you are breathing in as a color that penetrates the area in need. Thinking a color instantly creates it in your field.
Adding music and essential oils will enhance the healing effects even further. There are many books about these three subjects.
How you spend your time on a daily and weekly basis is very important to your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. The only way to keep yourself healthy and charged is by giving time and focus to each aspect. You probably will not be able to give equal time to all aspects of your life each day, but be sure to give some time each week to all aspects. Things to include in your time-activities budget are time for yourself alone, your mate, your family, your friends, your work, your social life, and your relaxation.
DIET:
We are what we eat!!! Diet is one factor that plays into our health every moment of the day. In Ayur-Veda it is said, “without proper diet medicine is of no use, and with proper diet medicine is of no need.” We have really gotten away from the natural forms of food. It hard these days to eat perfectly.
Putting food into our mouths is not the only way we feed our selves. We also feed ourselves through our eyes and ears. Those negative images and words we dine upon have lasting effects. Junky thoughts accumulate and create toxic conditions in the mind. We are like radios and there is a myriad of info flying through the air at any given time. When we become more conscious of what we are allowing in we can begin to filter better what we let in and keep out.
"The enemy is more easily overcome if he be not suffered to enter the door of our hearts, but be resisted without the gate at his first knock.”
-Thomas A Kempis
The body is rather like a city with five gates, the five senses. We are fairly fussy about what enters the gate of the mouth, but just as food enters the mouth and goes on to nourish or damage the body, sense impressions enter consciousness through our ears, eyes, nose, and skin, and in most of us the traffic is somewhat unregulated. We all want to be open to experience, but we also need to be watchful. When impressions come knocking, we need to check IDs.
Take popular films, most of which glamorize violence. We can pretend this is only entertainment, bearing no relationship to real life, yet every year violent crimes enact with terrible precision episodes from television or movies. In our violent society, how can anyone argue convincingly that witnessing casual cruelty on television does not effect us? We all have a personal stake in not supporting any of the mass media when they give us poisonous food for our eyes, our ears, and our minds.
MEDICINE COMES IN MANY FORMS:
I believe the best medicines in life are free. One example is laughter. Laughter is very good for all aspects of the body. Laughter can stimulate endorphins (chemicals that act like narcotics to the brain). Just the effects of escaping the pain of some illness for a few moments to laugh can be emotionally very healing.
There are as many ways to heal… a walk in the park, watching the sun, BEING IN NATURE… the list goes on and on. I personally like to swing. I carry a pair of designated “swinging gloves” in my car to use when I get the urge. I use gloves because I like to swing as high as I can and the chains put a lot of pressure on my hands.
THINGS THAT KEEP US FROM HEALING:
ANGER, GUILT, CRITICISM, AND FEAR
USING THE PAIN/SICKNESS TO GET ATTENTION OR LOVE
A FEELING OF NOT BEING WORTHY
NOT BEING ABLE TO FORGIVE (RELEASE THE PAST) OTHERS OR OURSELVES
IT ONLY TAKES A WILLINGNESS TO FORGIVE TO START THE PROCESS!!!
“The word INCURABLE that is so frightening to so many people means to me that this particular condition cannot be cured by any outer means and that we must go within to find the cure. DISEASE CAN BE HEALED, IF WE ARE WILLING TO CHANGE THE WAY WE THINK AND BELIEVE AND ACT!"” -LOUISE HAY
*I give this last information in hopes that it will shortcut a lot of time you might use barking up the wrong trees.
THE PURPOSE OF LIFE:
There are actually many purposes to life. If you go looking for them all you will miss your purpose in life. Your purpose in life is just as important as all the other purposes for life, but your purpose is most important to you. If you do not fulfill you purpose only you will have to answer for it. That is why responsibility is so important. We all have gotten caught up in looking to others for the answers. Just look at all the religions. Do not be like a sheep or you may miss your true purpose. No one other than you knows completely what your purpose is. Others may help guide you but be sure to go with what is in your heart. True teachers teach self-empowerment.
Here are four pointers to help you find what your purpose in life is:
1) It will make you happy (feel good) when you are doing it. Be cautious of the feel good thing though, because sometimes we caught up in doing what makes us happy and it is bad for us. One example is drinking yourself silly – this may make you feel good but it is temporary.
2) You will have a talent for what it is you are to do. For example, if you have a great voice and like to talk maybe motivation speaking is your purpose. Astrology and Numerology can give great insight into finding your purpose. When you are born you are imprinted with the magnetics of the UNIVERSE. This stamp is quit literally just like an UPC on an item in the store. Your Universal Personality Code is given to you because that is what is needed at that time in the UNIVERSE… you. As part of this imprinting you are given special gifts to help you accomplish your purpose. Contrary to popular belief you are not given groovy powers (gifts) because you are “GOOD” or “SPIRITUAL”. You are given gifts to share (help) your fellow creatures with. It is through this sharing with others that more and more of your inner gifts are revealed. The more you are in your sweet spot (purpose for living) the more your life will flow with ease.
3) Everybody’s purpose for living is different. Some people’s purpose may be to raise a loving family. This is no less or no more important than any other purpose. For the same reason your body needs different cells (liver, brain, kidney, nerve, etc…) so too does this Universe and Planet. If everyone were a healer or a carpenter we would be in deep trouble.
4) Other people besides yourself will benefit from what you do!!
It is said that to worship God is the highest virtue. The nature of worship is HONOR and RESPECT. The nature of God is CREATION. “Honor and respect ALL creations and you are worshiping God in the highest way!!!”
