I am writing you today about my growing concern over the lack of brother and sisterhood among ways of believing.

I am what you might call a new-ager. I have noticed a growing fear amidst the religions (Baptists, Catholics, etc. ) towards new-agers. A fear that all so called new-agers are occultist. In actuality new-agers are far from occultists. New-agers come from all walks of life. New-Agers are people with open minds looking tbr the truth. Most new-agers are avid readers, feeding themselves as much knowledge as they can take in.

In my case I was raised Baptist. The Baptist religion fell short as I grew older. It could not provide answers for the questions I was asking. For example if a God ask of us to be nonjudgn-iental and unconditionally loving., then why is he allowed to do these things? I just could and can not see God as some Loving being condemning people to Hell. I eventually quit going to church. I only returned when I was feeling guilty for not going (not a good reason to go).

I had not gone to church regularly for eight years then one day a friend let me borrow “The Celestine Prophecies”. The book really opened my eyes. I kept finding books like ~Seth Speaks”. “Illusions”, “Kxyon”, “Tuesdays with Morrie”, and many more. The books seemed to come in an order necessary for my understanding.

I believe we are all part of God. We are all sons and daughters of God. I also believe LOVE is the ultimate power. You see I believe there is some truth in every religion, and the sooner we all come together for the sake of LOVE, understanding and knowing the sooner we will find the TRUTH. It will take forever to find the TRUTH with people looking in just one direction. No two people believe the exact same way. It is important to look in all directions to get a full overview.

New-agers vary in their own thoughts and understanding just as anybody in any religion does.. New-agers are not out to transform everybody’s beliefs. I can not speak for the entire new age community, but I do see that most do believe the following. They believe that each individual knows what is best for her or hiniself. The New-agers message is one of unconditional love, understanding and self empowerment. They believe that we are all part of God, Oneness. Spirit or whatever else you want to call it.

I can see where some religions might see self empowerment as evil. Religions tell us that we are all sinners. So when we say that people have all the power within themselves, this can sound blaspheming. New-agers about finding that peace of God within themselves and everyone else. When we can see that we are part of ONE we can not help but love each other. When they hurt we hurt~ There is an Indian word used when greeting someone. The word is Namaste, and it means “The God in me honors the God in you”.
